F+R is a mexican arquitecture firm located in D.F. (Federal District), though having many years working they did not have a brand that reflected its philosophy and its projects style, the brand they had connoted improvisation and lack of quality.

F+R es una firma de arquitectos mexicanos ubicados en D.F. a pesar de tener ya varios años en el negocio no poseían una marca que reflejara la filosofía y estilo de su quehacer, pues la marca que los representaba connotaba improvisación y falta de calidad.

REDESIGN

The redesigned brand is based on geometrical shapes, with flats and perspectives, in order to communicate spacial sense of vanguard architecture and the typography clear and clean, just like the firm’s design style, and also the “F” and “R” integration, which are the initial letters of the founders names.

REDISEÑO

La marca rediseñada se basa en formas geométricas, con planos y perspectivas, que comuniquen sensación espacial de arquitectura de vanguardia y una tipografía clara y limpia, como el diseño arquitectónico de la firma, así como la integración de las letras F y R, iniciales de los apellidos de los socios fundadores.

 

 

BRANDING IDENTITY

· ORIGAMI CHAIR ·

This is a personal project, I’ve always had the intention for designing a chair, I’m a big fan of the chairs and tables (here’s my little collection on Pinterest), so this is the first time I put hands on to design one.

Este es un proyecto personal, siempre había tenido la intención de diseñar una silla, soy fan de las sillas y mesas (tengo una pequeña colección en Pinterest), entonces esta es la primera vez que pongo manos a la obra para diseñar una.

I must also say that I admire the Japanese culture and design. For this reason I decided to taking the ancient art of origami as inspiration: the folded shapes, angles, triangles and straight lines.

Debo decir también que soy un admirador de la cultura y diseño de Japón. Por esta razón decidí tomar el antiguo arte del origami como inspiración: las formas plegadas, ángulos, triángulos y líneas rectas.

· THE SARTORIALIST ·

This is my first time with a wacom tablet. The illustrations was inspired by Scott Schuman’s photographs and his nice blog: The Sartorialist.

Something that catches my attention about indumentary is how the clothes becomes into an extention of the mind, that allows us to see the personality of each human saying in silence“this is what I am!” or “this is my thinking way!” (of course, not always), I mean, how clothing helps to create an atmosphere around people. Everything communicates after all. / / /

Algo que me llama la atención sobre la Indumentaria es cómo la ropa se vuelve una extensión de la mente, que nos permite ver la personalidad de cada ser humano diciendo en silencio“esto es lo que soy!” o “esta es mi manera de pensar” (por supuesto no siempre), es decir, cómo la ropa ayuda a crear cierta atmósfera alrededor de la gente.
A fin de cuentas todo comunica. / / /

· DRAW BLACK CONTEST ·

There is a blog very cool called Frontier which around 1 year ago published a contest called Draw Black.

Hay un blog muy bueno llamado Frontier. Hace aproximadamente 1 año publicaron un concurso llamado Draw Black.

I got in the contest sending the image above and I won 🙂 The ilustration is my interpretation about the Oscar Wilde’s drama: Salome.
Some points in the brief were:
· Draw a picture of the topic you want
· It must be hand drawn
· It must be BLACK plus one other color of your choice

I sent this cat as well (no limit in image sent) and the cat got in the best 12 entries of the competition as a finalist. I was happy when I realized that another mexican was also a finalist: Pablo Byrne

I always thought the illustration needed something more, so I decided to do another versions
